ISD1700 Voice Module Introduction
ISD1700 voice module is a simple and practical circuit board designed to quickly familiarize and master the ISD1700 series chips. It is suitable for the full range of ISD1700 chips and has the characteristics of simple operation and complete functions. The ISD1700 series recording and playback chip is a highly integrated and high-performance chip. It can record multiple segments, the sampling rate can be adjusted between 4K and 12K, and the power supply range can be between 2.4V and 5.5V. ISD1700 also has a new recording prompt function. When there is a new recording, the LED will flash every few seconds to remind the user that there is a new recording. In addition, there are 4 kinds of sound effects to prompt the user’s operation results, such as start recording, stop recording, erase, next song and erase all. The recording data is stored in the FLASH of the chip without any compression, so it has good sound quality and power-off storage. The chip has two independent voice signal input channels, microphone input and analog signal input. In independent key mode, when a certain function operation is completed, the chip will automatically enter power-down mode to reduce power consumption. In SPI mode, users can perform more functional operations on the chip, such as recording and playing any storage address, reading and writing the analog path configuration register (APC), etc.

III. Instructions for independent operation of ISD1700 module (button instructions)
1. Recording REC:
Press and hold the REC button, and the LED light will light up. At this time, speak to the MIC, and the content of the speech will be recorded in the ISD1700 voice chip.
After recording a segment, lift this button, and the LED will go out at the same time. Press it again to start recording the second segment, and the subsequent segments will be operated in sequence.
2. Playback PLAY:
There are two modes, edge trigger and level trigger. (Note: After recording, the playback pointer will stay at the starting address of the segment after recording. At this time, the playback will play the next segment)
(1) Edge trigger: Press the PLAY button once to play the current segment. During playback, the LED flashes until it goes out at the end of playback. After playback ends, the playback pointer points to the starting address of the segment just played. Press the PLAY button again to play the segment just played.
(2) Level trigger: Press the PLAY button for a long time, and the chip will play all voice information, and it will loop until the button is released.
3. Fast forward FWD:
Before playing, press this button once and the playback pointer will point to the next segment. Press twice and the pointer will point to the beginning of the second segment after this segment. During playback, press this button to stop playing the current segment and continue playing the next segment. If the current segment is the next segment, the next segment will be stopped.
4. Erase ERASE:
The single segment erase operation is only effective for the segment and the next segment. When the playback pointer is at the segment or the next segment, press this button to erase the segment or the next segment. The playback pointer will jump to the second segment or the second to last segment before erasing. Press this button for more than 3 seconds and the chip will enter the “erase all operation mode”. At the same time, the LED light flashes twice. Continue to press this button. The LED flashes 7 times and then goes out. At this time, release this button and the voice information in the chip will be completely erased.
5. Reset RESET:
Press this button to reset the chip. After reset, the playback and recording pointers both point to the next segment, that is, the playback pointer points to the beginning of the next segment, and the recording pointer points to the end of the next segment. At this time, if playback is executed, the next section will be played. If recording is executed, a new section will be recorded next to the next section.
6. Tuning VOL:
Press this button to adjust the volume of the chip output sound. The chip defaults to outputting the sound value. Each time you click it, the sound will attenuate by 4db. When the sound is small, continue to press this button. Each time you click it, the sound will increase by 4db (Note: After resetting, the sound output is).
7. FT direct operation:
Short-circuit the FT pin with GND. Maintaining a low level continuously will start the direct mode. The direct operation will directly route the voice from the Analn end to the speaker or AUD output. During recording, if you press FT, the voice signal entering the Analn will be recorded at the same time.
