The gas-sensitive material used by the MQ-3 gas sensor is tin dioxide (SnO2) with low conductivity in clean air. When there is alcohol vapor in the environment where the sensor is located, the conductivity of the sensor increases as the concentration of alcohol gas in the air increases. A simple circuit can be used to convert changes in conductivity into an output signal corresponding to that gas concentration. The MQ-3 gas sensor has high sensitivity to alcohol and can resist interference from gasoline, smoke, and water vapor. This sensor can detect alcohol atmospheres of various concentrations and is a low-cost sensor suitable for a variety of applications.

Features of the module:

DO output: TTL digital 0 and 1 (0.1 and 5V)
AO output: 0.1-0.3V (relatively pollution-free), the maximum high concentration voltage is about 4V
Special reminder: After the sensor is powered on, it needs to be preheated for about 20 seconds before the measured data is stable. Heating of the sensor is normal because there is an electric heating wire inside. If it is hot to the touch, it is abnormal.
